Its administration is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to fluoroquinolones. It is recommended not to administer in pregnant or lactating females or in puppies unless the severity of the infection warrants it. In puppies younger than 8 months, its administration can cause damage to the joint cartilages. In large breeds and giant dogs, its use is not recommended until 18 months.
