INDICATIONS
\nNonsteroidal anti-inflammatory and analgesic (NSAID) with preferential action on cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2), which minimizes gastrointestinal side effects in horses.
\nAlleviates inflammation and pain, indicated for acute and chronic musculoskeletal pathologies such as arthritis, osteoarthritis, post-operative recovery from orthopedic and\/or soft tissue surgeries, injuries, tendinitis, etc.<\/p>\n
DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION
\n1 gram of MELOXIMIC EQUINE per 100 kg of body weight (0.6 mg\/kg bw of Meloxicam) every 24 hours, recommended for administration over 5 to 14 consecutive days, as prescribed by the attending veterinarian.
\nOral administration using the dosing syringe. Each syringe containing 35 grams of MELOXIMIC EQUINE has a plunger with graduations at 2.5 g and 5 g, determining that the content of one dosing syringe is sufficient for 7 doses in horses weighing 500 kilograms and 14 doses in horses weighing 250 kg.<\/p>\n
USAGE LIMITATIONS
\nDo not administer to foals under 6 weeks of age. Do not administer to animals with gastrointestinal disorders, hepatic, cardiac, renal dysfunction, or bleeding disorders, or when there is evidence of ulcerative gastrointestinal lesions. Do not use in case of known hypersensitivity to the active ingredient. Do not use in pregnant or lactating mares. Do not administer together with other NSAIDs, glucocorticosteroids, or anticoagulant agents. Avoid use in severely dehydrated, hypovolemic, or hypotensive animals requiring parenteral rehydration as there may be a risk of renal toxicity.<\/p>\n
WITHDRAWAL PERIOD
\nDo not administer to animals intended for human consumption.<\/p>\n
GENERAL PRECAUTIONS
\nThe product should be stored in its original closed container, away from sunlight, in a cool and dry place. Keep out of reach of children and domestic animals. Dispose of containers and leftovers according to the current regulations in the country for veterinary products. Uruguay: Dispose of containers at the nearest collection center.
