Injectable solution

 

Formula:

Acepromazine maleate 1.36 g   (equivalent to 1.0g of acepromazine base)

Excipients q.s.ad. 100 mL

 

Indications:

Acepromazine is a neuroleptic tranquilizer derived from phenothiazine. It facilitates the handling of animals in clinical – surgical, treatment and / or diagnostic maneuvers. Used as a pre-anesthetic medication, it is possible to reduce the dose of induction and maintenance anesthetics. Tranquilizer, it reduces stress and anxiety in environmental stimulation. To sedate excited or aggressive animals.

 

Withdrawal period:

Meat: Bovine and swine, 7 days.

Milk: 48 hours

 

Route of administration:

Parenteral: Intramuscular, intravenous or subcutaneous, with aseptic measures corresponding to the application of injectables.

Intravenous administration should be done slowly.

 

Dosage:

Each ml of the solution contains 10 mg of the active ingredient.

Indicative doses:

Canine: 0.05 – 0.1mg/kg Intravenous, Intramuscular or subcutaneous. Do not administer more than 3 mg in total.

Feline: 0.11 – 0.22 Intravenous, Intramuscular or subcutaneous. Do not administer more than 1 mg in total.

Rabbits: 1 mg/kg – 5 mg/kg, intramuscular,

Equine: 0.04 mg/kg – 0.1 mg/kg Intravenous, Intramuscular or subcutaneous.

Sedation in season: 0.02 – 0.05 mg/kg, Intravenous or Intramuscular.

Beginning of the effects: 20 min – 40 min.

Duration: 4 -6 hours.

Bovine: 0.05 – 0.1 mg/kg Intravenous, Intramuscular or subcutaneous.

Swine: 0.1 mg/kg – 0.2 mg/kg Intravenous, Intramuscular or subcutaneous. Do not administer more than 15 mg in total.

The repetition of the administration of the product will depend on the professional criteria according to the effect to be achieved.
