Antibiotic-chemotherapy association -potentiated sulfonamide-

of broad spectrum for bovine, ovine, swine, bird and rabbit

Formula:   

Each 100 mL contains:

Sulfaclhoropyridazine Sodium 10 g

Trimethoprim 2 g

Excipients q.s.ad 100 mL

Indications:

Antibiotic-chemotherapy association (potentiate sulfonamide), broad spectrum bactericide, for the treatment and control of primary or secondary infections produced by: negative Gram bacteria (G-) and Gram Positive (G.

Sulfonamides indications are broad due to the wide spectrum of activity, covering infectious diseases of digestive, genitourinary and respiratory systems. It is also indicated to treat septicemia, secondary infections, peritonitis, mastitis, metritis and otitis.

Target species:

Bovine, ovine, swine, bird and rabbit.

Withdrawal period:

Meat: 7 days in all the species.

Not to be used in females producing milk or laying birds whose productions is intended for human consumption.

Its use it is not recommended in animals with hypersensitivity to sulfonamides, or severe hepatic or renal diseases.

Route of administration:

Oral, add to milk, milk replacer, serum or drinking water at recommended doses.

During warm periods dose must adjusted to the water consumption. It is recommended to discard the leftovers and to make a new mixture every 24 hrs.

Dosage:

Suggested dosage: 1 mL of product every 2 kg. l.w. every 12 hrs. (equivalent to 49.5 mg/kg. l.w. of Sulfaclhoropyridazine and to 10 mg/kg. l.w. of Trimethoprim).

In drinking water it is advisable to maintain the animals without drinking for a prudencial period before the administration.

Birds and rabbits: 1 to 1.5 mL per liter of drinking water for 5 days. More than 3 mL per 1 liter is only recommended in severe cases (at discretion of veterinarian’s discretion).

Piglets: 0.5 mL per animal for 5 days.

The dosage and the duration of the treatment may vary according to each case and veterinarian’s discretion.
