VAC-SULES TUBERCULINA PPD AVIAR

   Reagent for diagnosis of avian tuberculosis and differential diagnosis of tuberculosis in bovine, swine, caprine and ovine

Composition:

Tuberculin purified protein derivative (PPD) 2500 UI / 0.1 mL

Ponceau Red Colorant 2%

Indications for use:

Reagent for diagnosis by intradermal inoculation of avian tuberculosis and for differential

diagnosis of tuberculosis in bovine, swine, caprine and ovine.

Target species:

Bovine, swine, caprine and ovine.

Route of administration and dosage:

Intradermal route, varying the areas according to the species and the method used.

Dose: 0.1 mL for all species, except avian that the inoculation is 0.5 mL.

Bovine:

Comparative cervical test: The application site is the middle third of the neck, inoculating the avian PPD to 10 cm of the nuchal ligament and the bovine PPD to 12 cm below the previous one. In both case the hair should be previously cut. The reading is done at 72 hours.

Swine:

The inoculation site is the ear base, taking into account that bovine PPD tuberculin is injected on the right side and the avian PPD on the left side. The reading is done at 48 hours.

Caprine and ovine:

It can be applied satisfactorily in the fold of the tail, in the palpebral region or in the table of the neck. The technique of application and interpretation is similar to that of cattle. The reading is done at 72 hours.

Birds:

0.05 mL is inoculated intradermally into one of the barbillons, leaving the other as a control. The reading is done at 48 hours.

Conservation:

2°C – 8°C. DO NOT FREEZE.
